ENTER RECREATIONAL RIDE VIA BRITISH CYCLING – 50 EXTRA PLACES AVAILABLE ON THIS RIDE

This 38 mile route follows the Grand Depart route up and back down the magnificent Upper Wharfedale valley, stretching right up into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The route returns via the stunning Bolton Abbey. Entry is £15 for the ride or £20 for the ride and post ride meal.

ENTER SPORTIVE RIDE VIA BRITISH CYCLING

This route is 80 miles & follows much of the Tour de France stage 1 taking you over 3 climbs and along 6 dales. From the head of Wharfedale the route goes over Kidstones, the first official climb of the 2014 Tour de France. It continues along the Stage 1 route, returning to Skipton via the impressive Ribblehead viaduct, the quaint market town of Settle and the lovely Malhamdale. Entry is £30 and includes everything.

ENTER TEAM RIDE VIA PDF FORM

Enter as a Team and get a special discounted rate. Skipton Cycling Club has approval from British Cycling to run a team element to our ride. Teams of 5 can enter and then we will publish a set of team results based upon the teams’ average riding speed. It’s not a race but a list of team average speeds. Please complete the Team Entry x5 form or email us for a copy of the group entry form.

Entry Details

    • Ensure you register early for this event. We sold out in 2014 We are using the British Cycling event entry.
    • The event is fully insured via the comprehensive British Cycling event insurance (see here).
    • You must be 16 or over to ride the Sportive ride and under 18’s on this ride must ride with a parent or guardian.
    • Under 16’s are free to enter the Recreational ride with their parent or guardian. All under 16’s must have 1 to 1 supervision on the ride and must have successfully completed their Bikeability level 2. North Yorkshire County Council will have delivered this cycle proficiency training in schools. If not please contact us for details of the next course.
    • Entry prices now at standard entry price of £15 for the Recreational ride and £31 for the Sportive ride but register now as prices may increase nearer the event date.
    • We will have some fabulous monthly spot prizes: keep an eye out for these
    • The event is non for profit and half of the surplus raised will be used by Skipton Cycling Club to develop and support its new junior cycle section as a Tour de France legacy project. We raised £3500 in 2014.
